Time to Post a Picture!

I have just been missing from this blog for a while and decided to make somebody's (anybody's?) day by posting! Yay!

I have been working on projects, especially sewing projects, which is a fairly new craft for me. I am very excited about it. Like I said on the Jungletart blog, I am taking an online class on Craftsy ("Sewing with Diana Rupp") and having a blast! I really like the online thing, the fact that I can keep referring to it forever and that I do understand the instruction. I am not paid to glow about it, I just feel like glowing about it!:)

I still have the Jungle, a Pug is sleeping on me right now making wonderful dreaming sounds. Come to think of it, I should be doing the same thing, so I will sign off for now. Hopefully, it won't be too long before I am back again! Good night all.:)

A place called Octagon: A special sanctuary

A relative of mine saw this place, called Octagon, in person and said it was a wonderful experience.

The director, this relative says, is Jack Hannah, and it is a non-profit, non-breeding, no kill shelter for exotic animals, most of which have come from abandoned or abusive backgrounds. Their website is www.octagonwildlife.org.

It is not a zoo, in the sense that all animals have been rescued and no zoo will take them, often because of physical and/or mental disorders. They may have come from terrible circumstances, but their life is much better now.

I enjoyed the video and thought I would share it with you.:)

The Snuggles Project

If you love animals and making things (crochet, knit, quilt or sew) then you will probably be interested in The Snuggles Project. It's making and donating blankets for animals that are in shelters, where the floor can be cement or other harsh, cold environments.

Campfire in the Jungle's backyard!:)

We had a campfire in the backyard via this small metal device which we've had for a while. We grilled some angus burger patty's from the local Walmart on our grill and enjoyed the fire until it started thunderstorming. My husband said we should have thought of this earlier as he found it so relaxing to sit by the fire and enjoy dinner!

I wrangled with Photoshop for this picture (I'm still figuring out el Photoshop!), as I rarely, as many know, put my photos on the web. But I thought you might like to enjoy this campfire too, although I would like it to remain exclusively on my site.:) (as we say to puppies when teaching them to leave things alone - Leave it, leave it!!!).

Living with frogs.

Green frog, Southern Brazil, Webshots.

This is not what it looks like, but we have big honker of a frog in our back room near the back door. I admit to having clutter and the biiiig frog slipped under the outside door, got past the dogs without being bothered (when they go outside) and slipped into the corner under a lot stuff that I wouldn't put my hand into. Eww I know, but he is a big beautiful toad and we seem to have a lot of those here.

Cat & the Printer

Oh, those curious cats!!:) My cat gets on the printer all the time, but never has this much fun!!

Turtle escaping from my yard!!

A couple of days ago, I found the Pugs side by side barking at SOMEthing! They were obviously afraid of it as they were standing a good two feet (luckily!) away from this lovely big box turtle.

I finally got the Pugs inside which was not easy as Emma's collar slipped off and Mia was a stinker and got back out of the house after I got her in. I stayed in the house a while ('cause I was busy!) then came out for turtle pictures, BUT he was gone.

Then the other day, Mia is barking at something at the gate and it's Mr. Turtle again, trying desperately to GET OUT of our yard. So, I snagged two pictures, and then put the guy in the front yard and he happily got away!:)

The Princess & Her Peanut Butter

Several videos, and plenty of pictures, were taken of Emma, my Apricot Pug, completely and utterly enjoying the last remains of a peanut butter jar. This one is my favorite because she lays downs and actually holds the jar with her paw!

Watching her have this much fun made me realize that I really could get by in this life with just furbabies. I know, those of you with kids, it is not the same, I'm well aware. But clearly, for Princess Emma, there is nothing better than a peanut butter jar, it must be the closest thing to Heaven! What a life!

Insanely Gorgeous

These are the most exquisite pictures I have gotten yet, from Reese the Siamese. I have learned with him that he is like the big time, highly paid human models. You do not 'get' a picture out of Reese, he 'gives' it to you. You must beg, at least a little, and praise him highly for the priviledge of being 'allowed' a gorgeous, no red-eye picture. No lie!

My God! As you can clearly see, he is the Iman of the kitty-kitty world. And he is mine!!:) He's an affectionate sweet-baby and I am often stunned when I see him sitting/lying throughout the house, he's a living, breathing statue. With enormous fangs! - that's only one reason we call him Freak Boy!:)
